David Moody (CEO)

Background

David Moody gained his PhD in Organic Chemistry in 1986. Since then, his roles have included inventor, developer of technology and leader of research programmes in ICI, Zeneca and Avecia. His career has covered small molecule and biomolecule APIs and pharma fine chem intermediates in scales ranging from mgs to tonnes.

David is the sole or co-inventor on patents covering small molecule APIs, chiral chemistry, oligonucleotides and, more recently, peptide and polymer science.

David’s commercial background is wide-ranging. As Director of New Technology Ventures at Avecia from 2000– 2003, he was responsible for the development and commercialisation of the company’s technology portfolio.

David was VP Commercial Operations at Almac Sciences between 2004 and 2008. During this time he was responsible for the launch of several successful pharma service businesses.

David formed Technocomm to aid technology commercialisation in the Life Science industry.
